Goto Design designed this richly illustrated monograph accompanying the New Museum’s exhibition Thomas Bayrle Playtime. It encompasses five decades of work and demonstrates the critical import of Bayrle’s output and highlights how his work offers prescient commentary on the power of propaganda and the marketing of desire.

Bayrle’s “super-forms”, large images composed of iterations of smaller cell-like images is reflected by unique type treatement; each chapter number (1—9) is composed of tiny numbers for instance, and the details in the plate section thoughout the catalogue.
