Hong Kong
For Takashi Murakami’s first exhibition in Hong Kong the artist explored two recurring motifs–flowers and skulls–revealing a recurring preoccupation, the dichotomy of joy and torment. Favoring a mix of plates, and details of smiling flowers and menacing skulls, the design exposes the contrast between Murakami’s buoyant art practice and his pessimistic outlook on Post-war Japan.
