The identity was inspired by the Biennale theme â€˜Open House.â€™ Working with the global symbol for house as an outline and placing it on an angle created multiple layers of meaning and possibility. Additionally, the outline could be applied as a framing tool, referencing new ways of seeing and participating. The open area of the logo also references a rupture to conformity, a peephole. Neon orange was inspired by the multiple usages of safety orange, a warning color, an alert, and a reference to construction. This worked well with curatorial ideas of flux.
