‘Picasso: Mosqueteros,’ aims to expand the ongoing inquiry regarding the context, subjects, and sources of Picasso’s late work through selected paintings and prints spanning 1962–1972. The accompanying exhibition catalogue avoids a too-classical treatment in order to illustrate how innovative and contemporary Picasso remained throughout his final artistic period. Dense with illustrated texts, including previously untranslated texts from the 1970’s, this contemporaneous Picasso is reflected via the colors, the typography treatment, the threading of archival materials and a transition of varying paper stocks through essays, plates and appendices.
